Driving for Donors National Marrow Donor Drive -- Law Enforcement Kickoff

Pat Pedraja, a 12-year-old boy from Florida who was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2006, is embarking on his second national "drive for donors" with a law enforcement kickoff during National Police Week. Pat, whose father is a police officer in south Florida, added more than 6,000 donors to the National Marrow Registry in 2007, including hundreds at National Police Week and other law enforcement events across the country. Pat, his mother, Claudine, and other family members are hoping to top that number in 2008. The special "Donormobile" will be parked outside the NLEOMF Visitors Center distributing information and collecting swabs for the National Marrow Registry.
