Honoring 282 American Law Enforcement Heroes
1811 – 2023
In 2024, the names of 282 officers killed in the line of duty were added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC. These 282 officers include 118 officers who were killed during 2023. An additional 164 officers died in previous years (before 2023). Many of their stories of sacrifice had been lost to history until now. There are currently 24, 067 names engraved on the Memorial.
