The NLEM&M Communications Department is accountable for the organization’s relationship with the media, general public, and the law enforcement community as it pertains to marketing, public relations, constituent outreach and strategies to increase public awareness and support of NLEM&M. The Chief Communications Officer develops and executes strategic communication plans and manages and maintains a dynamic online presence.

The Director of Media Relations manages the organization’s overall earned and paid media strategy for the National Law Enforcement Memorial and Museum and the many projects and programs of these entities through traditional and non-traditional media relations efforts.

Web Services Administrator

The Web Services Administrator plays a key role in advancing the goals, objectives, and activities of the Public Engagement Department and is a computer programmer who specializes in designing and implementing websites using the WordPress platform. They are responsible for both front-end and back-end development, including the implementation of themes and plugins to create attractive and user-friendly websites. Duties include determining the structure and design of web pages, striking a balance between functional and aesthetic design, and ensuring web design is optimized for smartphones.

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund and the National Law Enforcement Museum operate regular internship programs that provide students with work opportunities in various aspects of non-profit organization and operations, as well as museum programs.
