Volunteer for NPW

Volunteer for 2023
National Police Week

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and Museum is hosting National Police Week in May, and we need your help!

Friendly and energetic volunteers are needed to donate time to a great cause. As a thank you, you’ll receive:

  • Job training
  • T-shirt, and
  • Free admission ticket to the National Law Enforcement Museum

There are three roles we are seeking volunteers for this year:

Wreath Laying – Monday, May 8

Come meet other volunteers to assist with wreath laying at the Memorial. Wreath laying will take place from 11:00am to 2:00pm. For this event, we are looking for volunteers to help us with laying wreaths along the memorial for families who ordered them. We will only need a handful of volunteers for this opportunity.

Candlelight Vigil – Saturday, May 13

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund is hosting its annual candlelight vigil on the National Mall. We are looking for passionate volunteers eager to help loved ones of fallen officers attending this Vigil, for shifts ranging from 3:30 PM through 10:30 PM. Volunteers are needed to assemble candles, direct families and guests, check in dignitaries, assist with media, pass out programs, and more.

On Site, Visitor Flow – Thursday, May 11
– Saturday, May 17

Lastly, we are seeking volunteers to work at the Memorial and Museum throughout Police Week to help with visitor flow and retail needs. These volunteers will direct visitors in the Museum and help the retail stores with foot traffic.

If you are interested in any of these great opportunities to help support law enforcement, please email your full name, email address, and phone number to best reach you along with your hours of availability to [email protected]. A staff member will contact you within 24 hours.

The success of our many events depends on our volunteers and supporters, like you. Thank you!
