The National Law Enforcement Museum is proud to announce its first-ever art exhibition, a display that celebrates the creative expression and transformative power of art by law enforcement officers.
Opening September 26, 2024, in the museum’s DuPont Gallery, Officers as Artists: The Creative Expression of Those Who Serve will serve as a showcase of officers’ creativity and artistic talents. The exhibit will highlight how art has been an integral part of who they are as individuals who also happen to be officers or, for some, how art has been instrumental for them as they navigate a complex profession, critical relationships, and process traumatic experiences they have endured head-on.
Through this event, the museum aims to shed light on the role of art and discover the many ways in which creative expression serves law enforcement officers.
The exhibit will feature artwork by 50 active and retired law enforcement artists from around the country across a variety of mediums, including painting, photography, sculpture, and mosaic. In addition to their artwork, the exhibit will provide the officers’ stories and how each of them uses art and creative expression as a way to channel the stresses that come with the calling.
