The inaugural exhibit in the museum’s DuPont Gallery, Five Communities highlighted grassroots efforts to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve. The exhibit provided visitors with a look at specific programs developed in Cleveland, Ohio; Dallas, Texas; Chicago, Illinois; Somerville, Massachusetts and Charleston, South Carolina. Visitors were introduced to the problems these communities grapple with and how they have worked towards change. Most of all, Five Communities showed how officers and community members who care about their neighbors and the place where they live can help solve difficult problems.
