Police Officer Cook was shot when a responded to a domestic disturbance call where an impaired male suspect shot at his wife. As Officer Cook attempted to calm the suspect, he shot Officer Cook in the chest. Officer Cook died at the scene. The suspect was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
