On April 14, 1910, Post Office Inspector Frederick was travelling from the post office in Bland, Colorado back to his office in Madison when he lost control of his team of horses who bolted and galloped wildly down the road. Inspector Frederick was thrown from the buggy and sustained broken ribs and other injuries. Inspector Frederick died of his injuries four days later on April 18th.
