Sergeant Linehan collapsed after he and fellow officers responded to a disturbance call involving an unruly crowd of approximately 500 people at a theater. The crowd had surged against the building which broke several glass panels. When the officers pushed their way through the crowd to aid a woman who had fainted, Sergeant Linehan collapsed. Sergeant Linehan was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased due to a cerebral hemorrhage.
