On April 18, 1906, Police Officer Lyons was transporting a suspect to jail who was under arrest for causing a disturbance at a saloon. Officer Lyons was attacked by the suspect, thrown from the buggy, and struck his head on the pavement. The suspect stole Officer Lyon’s revolver and fled the scene. Officer Lyons died of his injuries a week later on April 24th.
