Michael Muth

Mr. Muth is a founding member of the Board of Directors of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. He began his law enforcement career in July 1972 when he entered the Maryland State Police Academy as a Trooper. In 1976 he transferred to the Aviation Division as a medical technician/observer and later obtained both fixed wing and commercial rotorcraft ratings, becoming a pilot-in command of Division helicopters. In July of 1989 he joined the Superintendent’s Staff Inspection unit at State Police Headquarters and in 1991 transferred to the Bureau of Drug Enforcement, as Detective Sergeant, supervising four separate drug investigation units.
In June of 1997, Mr. Muth was assigned to INTERPOL Washington as the Assistant Director of the State and Local Liaison Division. He retired with 29 years of service to the citizens of Maryland and the Maryland State Police. Mr. Muth is a member of the Maryland Troopers Assoc., and an FOP member. He has received numerous awards and letters of recognition during his career with the Maryland State Police and the U.S. Department of Justice.
