38th Annual Candlelight Vigil

Each year, hundreds of names of officers killed in the line of duty are engraved on the walls of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, DC. These names are then read aloud during the annual Candlelight Vigil to memorialize those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
2026 will mark the 38th Annual Candlelight Vigil, on Wednesday, May 13th on the National Mall (between 4th and 7th Streets and Madison and Jefferson Drives) in Washington, DC.

The 38th Annual NLEOMF Candlelight Vigil is slated to be held on The National Mall between 7th and 4th Streets. Location Subject to change.
The Candlelight Vigil is open to the public, registration is not required for general admission.
Reserved Seating for Survivors – Candlelight Vigil (May 13)
Reserved seating at the Candlelight Vigil is exclusively for surviving family members and is NOT open to the general public.
To access the reserved seating area, all survivors and any agency escorts must have registered prior to today’s date.
Agency Escorts & Officials
- For each surviving family, only one escort officer or the agency head may sit in the reserved seating area.
- Additional agency personnel are welcome to attend the Vigil but must anticipate standing in general public area at the rear.
