Debi Gillette and Beryl Simpson to Grow Individual Giving Program
Washington, DC—The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and Museum is pleased to announce the addition of two new members to its Development team. Debi Gillette joins the organization as Manager of Donor Advising. Beryl Simpson joins the team as Donor Relations Specialist. Both will report to Diane LaVigna, CFRE, Chief Development Officer.

Debi Gillette has more than 20 years of experience in professional fundraising. Based in suburban Chicago, her non-profit experience includes the Chicago Zoological Society/Brookfield Zoo, Advocate Health Care Charitable Foundation and Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. She is a longtime member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, having served as board member, committee chair and conference program leader. Ms. Gillette holds a Master of Science in Management and Organizational Behavior from Benedictine University and a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern Illinois University. Debi is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and is working toward the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential.
As Manager of Donor Advising for the National Law Enforcement Memorial and Museum, Ms. Gillette will play an essential role working with individual donors to help them achieve their personal philanthropic goals. As the wife of a police chief, she is uniquely qualified to serve as an ambassador connecting law enforcement officers with community members. Ms. Gillette and her husband are the proud parents of two teenage daughters.

Beryl Simpson joins the organization with more than 13 years’ experience with local and international nonprofits in the areas of development, administration, and project management. She previously worked with the Wadsworth Museum of Art, the Connecticut Food Bank, and World Vision International. Ms. Simpson holds a Master’s degree from Eastern University, Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Ghana. She resides in Virginia with her husband and teenaged son.
As Donor Relations Specialist, Ms. Simpson wil manage mid-level and workplace giving programs, work to enhance the donor experience, and support the Development Committee.
“Both Debi and Beryl bring a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the Development team,” said National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund CEO Marcia Ferranto. “We are ecstatic to have them join the organization at this critical time. Their skills and expertise are definitely needed as we chart our fundraising and development paths forward.”
