Icons | Suzanne Beam and Lisa Somers: A Women’s History Month Special

03.28.2023

With more than 50 years of combined law enforcement experience, we’re proud to introduce two of the National Law Enforcement Museum’s volunteers: Suzanne Beam, formerly with the Montgomery County (MD) Police Department and Lisa Somers, formerly with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). They are joined in studio by Madison Scott, the Museum’s manager of volunteer services, to discuss their careers as women in the law enforcement profession. Each of them shares some of the difficulties they faced early on in their careers, and how law enforcement departments have changed and evolved into more inclusive environments. Tune in to this special Women’s History Month episode of Icons!
