Deputy Sheriff Justin DeRosier was shot and killed while responding to a disabled vehicle. After arriving to the scene, he contacted dispatch and stated he was being fired upon. He was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. Police shot and killed a man suspected of being involved in the shooting. Deputy Sheriff DeRosier is the 16th law enforcement officer to be shot and killed this year and the second officer fatality from the state of Washington in 2019.
