Deputy Sheriff Julius Jamal Dailey was killed in a single-vehicle crash while responding to a burglary in progress call. Deputy Dailey lost control of his patrol vehicle and struck a tree. Deputy Dailey is the 19th law enforcement officer to be killed in a traffic-related incident this year and the fourth officer fatality from the state of Alabama in 2019.
