Deputy Sheriff Jose Blancarte suffered a fatal heart attack at the scene of a vehicle fire. Deputy Blancarte was directing traffic after assisting at the scene of the fire and he began to feel ill. He was transported to the hospital and passed away a short time later. Deputy Blancarte is the ninth officer fatality from the state of Texas in 2019.
