Officer Dornell Cousette was shot and killed while attempting to serve a search warrant. The suspect was wanted for failing to appear on prior felony offenses. Officer Cousette is the 35th law enforcement officer to be shot and killed this year and the fifth officer fatality from the state of Alabama in 2019.
