Police Officer Kaulike Kalama

Police Officers Kaulike Kalama and Tiffany-Victoria Enriquez were shot and killed as they responded to a stabbing that occurred during an eviction of a disgruntled tenant. The officers responded to a 9/11 call at the home and were met by gunfire. A fire was then started in the home and rapidly spread and destroyed other homes in the area. The shooter and two unidentified women were still in the home when the fire started. The shooter was known to law enforcement and suffered mental health issues. Officer Kalama is the third law enforcement officer to be shot and killed this year and the second officer fatality from the state of Hawaii in 2020.

    Today, 1/20/20 is the 31st anniversary of the Simpson and Silva shooting; the longest day in SJPD [San Jose Police Dept.] history.
    EOW’s, 1/20/89. It was a long day for patrol officers families. When we found out it wasn’t our loved ones; it didn’t make it any better. Collectively, families mourned.

  6. As with Officer Tiffany-Victoria Enriquez, this is a terrible loss and my family was saddened to see this event play out on national television. Our prayers are with Officer Kaulike Kalama and his family at this most difficult time. We hope that you find peace of mind and comfort knowing that Officer Kalama is in the arms of God now.

My most heartfelt condolences go out to the slain officers family’s as well as their fellow officers of kaulike kalama and Tiffany Victoria Enriquez for performing their duties of serving and protecting their communities what a most senseless and cowardly act to kill theses officers for just trying to serve and eviction notice. May St. Michael guide their souls before God Almighty and may he enter their souls into the kingdom of God to rest there forevermore thank you so much for your sacrifice and service RIP.
