Trooper Nolan J. Sanders was killed in a single-vehicle crash when his patrol car left the roadway and crashed into a concrete culvert. Trooper Sanders is the 15th law enforcement officer to be killed in a traffic-related incident this year and the first officer fatality from the state of North Carolina in 2020.
