Deputy Sheriff John Rhoden was struck and killed by a tractor trailer while deploying spike strips during a vehicle pursuit. Deputy Rhoden is the 20th law enforcement officer to be killed in a traffic-related incident this year and the seventh officer fatality from the state of Texas in 2020.
