Deputy Sheriff Wyatt Maser was inadvertently struck and killed by another patrol car as he responded to assist another deputy with a woman experiencing mental crisis. The woman was in the roadway wielding a machete. Deputy Sheriff Maser is the 21st law enforcement officer to be killed in a traffic-related incident this year and the first officer fatality from the state of Idaho in 2020.
