Police Officer Anthony Dia was shot and killed while responding to a disturbance at a local home improvement store. Officer Dia was called to the store to investigate a call of an intoxicated individual in the parking lot of the store. As Officer Dia approached the suspect, he opened fire on the officer. Officer Dia was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his gunshot wound. The suspect later committed suicide. Officer Dia is the 28th law enforcement officer to be shot and killed this year and the second officer fatality from the state of Ohio in 2020.
