Chief Deputy Lee R. Weber drowned in the Missouri River while attempting to rescue his son who had fallen out of the boat during the Fourth of July weekend. His body was found six days later. Chief Deputy Weber is the first officer fatality from the state of South Dakota in 2020.

  5. Jan. 17 2020, God sent 2 of his Angel’s to save my life. They went over and beyond call of duty, I want to thank them for their service and my life which they saved. Stuart FL appx 5pm you know who you are and I’m sure you know who I am, more importantly God knows who you both are and he will keep you safe as I pray for you both every night knowing that you are out there doing your job and pray for your protection every moment of the day/night I may have made a mistake but you both helped me to realize and have given me something to think about every hour of every day.
