Trooper Caleb Starr succumbed to injuries he sustained when his vehicle was struck head-on by an impaired driver on July 10, 2020. Trooper Starr was transported to the hospital where he remained until passing on July 31, 2020. Trooper Starr is the 31st law enforcement officer to be killed in a traffic-related incident this year and the third officer fatality from the state of Michigan in 2020.
