Detective James Skernivitz was shot and killed while working undercover as part of a task force assisting Operation Legend. Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing of Detective Skernivitz. Detective Skernivitz is the 35th law enforcement officer to be shot and killed this year and the third officer fatality from the state of Ohio in 2020.
