Reserve Deputy Sheriff James Driver was killed in an automobile crash while responding to a crash with emergency lights and siren activated. Deputy Driver collided with a trailer being pulled by a pickup truck. Deputy James was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Deputy Driver is the 19th law enforcement officer to be killed in a traffic-related incident this year and the second officer fatality from the state of Indiana in 2021.
