Trooper Todd Hanneken was killed in a single-vehicle crash when his patrol vehicle left the roadway and struck a light pole and tree. Trooper Hanneken is the 17th law enforcement officer to be killed in a traffic-related incident this year and the second officer fatality from the state of Illinois in 2021.
