Jeff Welch
Sergeant/Deputy, Henderson (KY) Police Department/Hopkins County (KY) Sheriff’s Office
I started my career at the Western Kentucky University Police Department in 1998. After a few years I relocated to the Henderson Police Department in Henderson, Kentucky. I served many roles during my 18.5 years at Henderson. worked patrol, detective and finished my career at the rank of Sergeant. I worked various roles as a Sergeant to include shift commander and then moved into the Training Sergeant position. 2018 I retired from Henderson and took a position as the Training Coordinator at the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office. I am currently still employed with Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office.
I attended the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Academy session 246 in 2011. I prided myself in training and that comes from following in the footsteps of my father. He was the Asst. Director of the Tenneessee Law Enforcement Training Academy. I loved teaching officer safety to my officers and officers across the nation especially Below 100. I feel like I have made an impact on officers all of the country and that is what I am most proud of.
