Clifton Bartelt
Patrolman, Aurora (IL) Police Department
Officer Bartelt became a Officer with the Aurora Police Department on October 26,1970. He served in the following Divisions: Patrol-Investigations and Property Officer in control of evidence for the Department.
At the time of this commendation he was assigned to the 7am-3pm Patrol Shift of the Bureau of Community Policing.
Officer Bartelt is to be commended for his outstanding work as the walking man for District 1 downtown business district. Officer Bartelt has created a high profile presence in the business area and has established a liaison with the downtown merchants. He has worked with other divisions in the Department to address problems and work on long-term solutions and has conscientiously followed up to make sure that the plans were implemented.
Because of his work and devotion to duty, the Department continues to enjoy a positive image with the downtown merchants.
Additionally, many merchants have contacted the Aurora Police Department to express their appreciation for the work that he has done.
His actions are a display of his commitment to the Aurora Police Department’s community oriented policing philosophy, the citizens of Aurora and our Mission Statement.
