Hello, my name is James (Dave) Bean. I joined the Fairfax County Police Department in 1978 when I was 24 years old. Previous to this, I was a police officer for the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department from 1975 to 1978. I want my community to know the reason I became a police officer was to help those who lived in my community. I am so honored to be remembered in this Museum. I ask that today you thank a police officer.
