Hello, my name is Joshua Koen. I joined the Denver Police Department in Colorado on September 23, 2019 at 29 years old. Prior to working with the DPD, I served as a Deputy Sheriff for the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office in southern Colorado for over five years spanning from 2012-2019. I have also held the position of emergency services dispatcher for the Manitou Springs Police Department in Colorado from 2009-2012. I have been drawn to law enforcement my entire life. As long as I could talk any of my family members or friends would tell you “Josh has always wanted to be a police officer.” I love what I do, and I can honestly say I am living a lifelong dream dedicated to protecting and serving my community. My family has a storied history in public service from law enforcement to military service. I am proud to be carrying on that tradition.
I am so honored to be remembered in this Museum and for the opportunity to share my passion with the country.
