My older brother Mark Orefice was a sergeant in the 34th Pct. when Michael was killed. The ultimate sacrifice. I’m sending this note to honor this fallen hero and to also honor my brother Mark who attends this memorial every year. I come from a family of Blue. My father Robert Orefice was a patrolman. My uncle Frank Orefice was Highway 2. My uncle Larry Gatto was a gold shield detective. Blue is in my DNA. Please keep honoring the fallen and keep their memories alive.
