A Unique Way to Honor Fallen Officers in Miami-Dade

The Dade County (FL) Police Benevolent Association has come up with a unique and compelling tribute to the 133 officers who have died in the line of duty throughout Miami-Dade County history: 133 mannequins wearing specially designed memorial t-shirts. The back of each shirt contains the fallen officer’s name and end of watch date. The front displays the simple, yet powerful message, “I Died for You.” PBA President John Rivera said the exhibit should “serve as a visual reminder of the sacrifice officers make.”

The month-long exhibit is housed in the Stephen P. Clark government center. Each day at noon, a recording of the officers’ names will be played.

More details about the tribute, including photos, can be found at the Miami Herald website.
