Our Museum Grand Opening celebration is now just one month away. It seems like almost every day, there’s a new development at the Museum site and it’s quickly starting to look like the special place we knew it would be.
I know many of you are planning to make a visit to Washington, DC, for our Grand Opening weekend. It’s going to be a truly special occasion, with a lot of activities and events taking place both inside the Museum and on the street outside. You’ll find details about the Grand Opening Community Day celebration on October 13 in this Museum Insider. This free, family event takes place outside the Museum and everyone is welcome to attend. All visitors will need a timed-entry ticket to enter the Museum. Tickets for opening day are expected to sell out very quickly; I encourage you to visit our website and purchase your tickets as soon as possible.
So many of you have expressed an interest in visiting us on opening day and I’m thrilled, but October 13 is just the first day of many days ahead, so I would encourage you to also think about visiting when we’re not as crowded. One thing I know for sure, there’s much to see and do in the Museum whenever you decide to visit.
