On July 11, 2023, Police Officer Sapolu was critically injured in a single motorcycle crash after responding to help a fellow officer with a weapons violation call. Officer Sapolu’s motorcycle struck a concrete median and he suffered multiple injuries. He was transported to a hospital and succumbed to his injuries on August 8, 2023.
