Sporting Events

The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) has partnered with national sports teams and leagues across the country to hold Law Enforcement/First Responder Appreciation Events during games created to honor and show appreciation for the men and women who serve in law enforcement. The leagues include:

  • Major League Baseball (MLB)
  • National Hockey League (NHL)
  • National Football League (NFL)
  • National Basketball Association (NBA)
  • Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA)
  • National Soccer League (MLS)

To date, NLEOMF has worked with the teams in the professional leagues to produce more than 75 events annually.

Each team is unique in how it presents the exclusive law enforcement theme event for games. Teams typically offer discounted ticket packages that may include co-branded clothing, caps, drinkware, and challenge coins. In addition, law enforcement officials have performed the National Anthem, honor guards have presented the colors pre-game, and public service announcements are shown on the Jumbotron. Other in-game event opportunities have included: radio/TV interviews; helicopter fly overs; the ceremonial first pitch; and photo opportunities on the field.
