Scavenger Hunt Series
Families will explore the National Law Enforcement Museum’s exhibits – primary source documents and artifacts from the museum’s collection – in this exciting series of scavenger hunts. Families will uncover clues that help them to decipher the combinations to several locks, unveiling more information about the case until arriving at the verdict.

Walking the Beat
The National Law Enforcement Museum’s newest offering is Walking the Beat: History of MPD, a walking tour through the streets of Washington, DC. Over 75 minutes, explore how MPD grew from a small force in 1861 to one of the most historic and influential police departments in the nation. Along the way, hear stories of notorious crimes, legendary officers, and MPD’s role in some of D.C.’s most pivotal moments.
The tour will begin at the National Law Enforcement Museum and end at the Memorial.
Walking tours run July through November.
Science Saturdays
Step into the role of a crime scene investigator at the National Law Enforcement Museum! Visitors will get a behind-the-scenes look at the real science used by investigators, from toxicology, ballistics, blood stains, and more.
This educational experience takes roughly one hour to complete. Sessions will run at 11:00, 12:00, and 1:00.
Science Saturday programming is free with an admission ticket.
