Assistant Chief Hale collapsed while attempting to place a resisting suspect under arrest. Assistant Chief Hale and a second officer answered a disturbance call at a restaurant and arrested the suspect with some difficulty. As the brother of the suspect attempted to intervene, Assistant Chief Hale collapsed and died of a heart attack at the scene.
