Police Officer Sluganski was shot and killed while responding to a domestic disturbance call. Officer Sluganski and another officer attempted to make contact with the suspect and as the suspect walked away, he produced a handgun and opened fire on the officers. Officer Sluganski was transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his gunshot wound. The other officer was wounded in the incident.
