Hello, My name is Jeffery Manguiat. I joined the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office in January 1980 when I was 23 years old. My interest in law enforcement began a year after high school while working as a lifeguard for the YMCA. I went to college, joined the Oakland Police Explorer program then joined the Oakland Police Reserve Police officer program. I worked everything from the jails to patrol, the courts, training and transportation. Giving to my community was rewarding to me. I retired in January 2006. I just want to Honor all of my brothers and sisters who are remembered in stone. I am so honored to be part of this Museum and to have served.
