Serving My Community

Thomas Maple

Thomas Maple
Patrolman, Lawrence Township Police Department

Hi, my name is Tom Maple. I joined the Lawrence Township Police Department in 1988 when I was 33 years old, because I wanted to serve the community I grew up in and follow in the footsteps of my father, John U. Maple. He was a retired detective who also served with the Lawrence Township Police Department for 26 years. One thing that surprised me about being a Police Officer, is that I’d never expected to be so involved in the lives of everyone I had contact with in every shift I worked. I’m sharing this because I want my community to know about law enforcement. I’m so honored to be remembered in this Museum, because of the people I had contact with and hopefully I had a positive impact on their lives. I will always remember my years that I served as a School Resource Officer at the Lawrence Intermediate School and the Lawrence Middle School. They were the most rewarding years of my career.
