Kelly was a Marion County Oregon Deputy Sheriff. He died in firey head on crash while responding code 3. Hit by driver who coming from other direction of highway was passing all cars pulling over thus hitting Kelly’s car head on. Ammo in trunk got hot from fire and started to go off keeping emergency

My older brother Mark Orefice was a sergeant in the 34th Pct. when Michael was killed. The ultimate sacrifice. I’m sending this note to honor this fallen hero and to also honor my brother Mark who attends this memorial every year. I come from a family of Blue. My father Robert Orefice was a patrolman.
